Deck Interview: Ghosts and Spirits Tarot

December 4, 2012

by Lisa Hunt

Every since I heard about this deck I wanted it.  My reaction to it upon getting it was somewhere between creepy and cool!  Some of the pictures are nifty and some are just…ewwww!  I really wish she had put her own titles on the cards instead of using the standard titles as this really is not a standard deck.  Ms. Hunts spirits are both nature spirits and those of the dead  I hoped this would be a good replacement deck for the ancestors as the Circle of Life deck that I currently use for them is often unintelligible to me. That wasn’t to be but the one that choose to work through this deck…now that surprised me.  After seeing who claimed the deck and when, many of the earlier answers make more sense.  Layout can be found here.

  1. What is your most important characteristic?   4 of Pentacles – bridge between well and sky; a gift; examine the present
  2. What can you do?  4 of Cups – Keep you from Complacency;  strive, fight, work; pokes (ala Facebook)
  3. What can’t you do?  Queen of Wands – social niceties
  4. What is your curriculum?  Blank Card – conduit for spirits to communicate
  5. How should I use you?  7 of Cups – Practicalities, no Shangri-la or Eldorado searches
  6. Final thoughts?  Chains – open eyes to truth and what is truly important
    1. tarot version of lenormand?  Page of Wands – messages from spirit realm
  7. Who wants to work through you?  Judgment – Ma’at
    1. When should be used?  Chariot – when taking action to assure success, when uncertain
  8. Place keywords upon the cards?  8 of Wands – for rapid response with intent

Quintessence = 65 = 11 = Justice – think before you act

Basis = Hermit = sacred space

Omen deck for rituals?  Ace of Wands – see the light, reflection of wisdom and insight (I’ll take that as a yes.)

Need to find fabric or a bag for this deck that has Ma’at symbolism upon it.
