Celestial Quilt finished

March 21, 2010

Remember the Goddess 2000 Project?  The one where they wanted to see a goddess on every proverbial street corner? Well I started a quilt for it.  I got the quilt top done but never did the actual quilting.  Why?  Partially out of a lack of experience, partially because I didn’t trust my sewing machine, partially because my life got interesting and partially out of laziness.

Since then I’ve made 2 simple lap quilts and got a new sewing machine.  My life is a little less interesting but still pretty busy.  Yet, I’ve had a urge all winter to get this finished.  Well I decided today to put my new found spring energy to work and managed to finish it today.  I’m pretty jazzed about this.  I’ve had it on my goal list since 2008.  Will take a picture of it tomorrow.

UPDATE!  Pic below!

Ooooohhhh, I love it! Where did you get the pattern? I used to help my mama quilt (many, many years ago) but I’ve never made one on my own.

Thanks! I’m afraid that the pattern came out of my head. It is just a 9 square quilt with borders out of rectangles and squares. The sun and moons are appliques that were sewn on by hand using a hem stitch.
