Daily Happenings: 7/5 – 7/11
What you see on my blog is a meager slice of my life. Do not presume that you know who I am by what you find here. As much as gets written down, much more happens that does not. This is my space, read or not as you please; just don’t lecture me on what I should or should not post. I find writing cathartic and so do a lot of ranting and whining, especially in these Daily Happenings posts. Rants by definition are not based on logic. Writing down my rants helps me to clean out the ol’ brain pan so that I can find a solution to whatever is bothering me at the moment. Yes I have friends I could lay this stuff on instead, but maybe I don’t want to clutter up their brain pan or bother them when they have their own issues.
Spiritually, I’m still trying to find a steady rhythm on my daily devotional (DD) practice. Right now I do a little something as it strikes me, no formal ritual. Occasionally been doing short meditations and I always end the day with thanks in front of my shrines. Prayers, as always, before bed unless I’m ill.
7/5: Another bad night of sleep and more bug bites. Chatting and packing up for home. Nothing I do stops those damn bugs. Headed for home midafternoon. Unloaded, showered and started experimenting with bug bite relievers. The clay I used over the weekend caused a number of the bites to blister up then pop. Now I have scabs. Ugh. So far tea tree oil helps the most…tea bag second. Worked on setting up the new phone. Feeling a little intimidated by it simply because it seems so different from my old one and I ‘m too tired to puzzle it out.
7/6: Slept ok. Had problems with the bites on my legs. Woke up to new bites. I’m a bit terrified that means whatever is biting me has come home with me…the worst one is on the palm of my dominant hand. Into work an hour early. Lunch. Work. Itchy and bitchy. Did a little more work on my phone. Hubby has been washing our bedding just to be safe. Rinsed out then washed the Dfest shirts we dyed over the weekend. Oatmeal bath. Made bed…and found some sort of flying bug in our freshly washed duvet. Really?! Probably not the biter as it wasn’t aggressive. More goop on my itchy spots. Benadryl.
7/7: Getting up was a chore. Bites looking a lot better. Laundry. Work and hour early. Home to find the internet is down here too. Got the prequel graphic novel to Guilty Pleasures in the mail. A little more work on my phone. Finished a book that my son was tired of then started weeding out 2014 pics. Internet back up about midnight.
7/8: Could have slept in but Hubby’s alarm kept going off because evidently he doesn’t understand the meaning of TURN IT OFF! Found a number of contacts that didn’t make it to my phone. Slowly get my apps set back up. Ran truck out to Hubby where he is trying to fix the ball joints (I think) on his van. Laundry and vacuum. Movie with boychild. Hubby took me to work and then picked me up and took me to dinner (with the added joy of a misbehaving child, sigh). He isn’t done with the van but has figured out the whats and how of what he is doing so expects things to go better tomorrow.
7/9: Both of us woke up tired and unmotivated. Laundry. Was going to walk boychild to Jr. Rangers but a friend picked us up and gave the boychild a pair of pants. Read. Balanced checkbook. Home doing stuff with boychild then made dinner and walked to craft night with him as Hubby still wasn’t finished with the van. While there boychild painted a small ladybug, I stitched then paid for some jewelry. He later picked us up then went to get us van. Lenormand reading about switching menopause meds…garden, lily, house, scythe, coffin…which I read as the new med is a long term solution for menopause and it should be the last one I need to use. Hoped to get someone on my FB friends list to corroborate my interpretation but she wasn’t interested.
7/10: Didn’t sleep too well. Boychild came to me earlier in the week, said he was saving something to watch with me. The story of Lego. It was cute in that I often save videos to watch with him but this is the first time he did it for me. ❤ Laundry put away and bags packed. I crashed the camper. 😦 I didn’t know it was on a jack stand and was getting stuff out of it…one side is pretty damaged. I’ve completely reverted to childhood and fear of the reaction I’ll get to such an accident. Dad really liked his vehicles…Hubby never reacts that way but… I’ve done what I can to fix things until Hubby gets here…I’m frazzled and my shoulders are pissed. Things ran really late at the tire place, he told me to head out. Dinner with inlaws plus one errand done.
7/11: Errands and lunch with my heartsister and MIL while Hubby and HS’s Hubby worked together. HS managed to find me a leopard print phone cover! Also I manged to find the boychild some jeans for less than $5 apiece. Still can’t find mugs for the camper. Read some.
