I’m back…sort of

August 12, 2013

Made it back from Dragonfest aka a Pagan festival.  Currently in Denver visiting with my sister at my parents’ house.  She is visiting from Texas.

Highlights of my week in randomly remembered order.

  • a sheet rainbow…don’t know what else to call it but it reminded me of labradorite.  I’ve since seen another unusual rainbow.  That makes the third unusual rainbow I’ve seen so I’ve offered incense to Iris.  Not sure what else to do…
  • at the drawing down, I spoke with Odin (through the one who drew him down) who was very much in Grandfather mode.  He advised me to connect more with others who have children in similar stages as my son.  He told me that it is a modern concept that one can raise a child without help.  He also said that the whole maiden, mother, crone thing is a modern concept and isn’t applicable to me personally or spiritually.  I really liked him, after he helped me to my feet, I got a hug and kissed him on the cheek.  Since I recently wrote about Kronos (at Pagan Square) and honored him ADF-style at Lammas, I wonder if there are any connections between him and Odin…
  • saw a large beetle, like an inch long with feathery antennas
  • heard some kind of raptor repeatedly over the week
  • saw a white/silver ladybug…as in a real one
  • maybe made a new friend?  Hope so but one can never tell
  • left the festival feeling good about myself (only to have my sister tell me I have hippy hair and my mother repeatedly refer to my size…that part is not a highlight)

That’s all I can think of at the moment.  Rather tired.

Ach, your mother! Maybe I could meet her and give her someone of REAL size to obsess over. When I tell her I’m about 90 lbs down from my top weight, she might faint dead away!

Failing that, perhaps responding with “Yes, Mother, I have a mirror.” You may have to outright ask her to stop. You don’t need her giving you a reason to stay away from her.

She didn’t even realize what she said/did…it was a causal reference that I’m probably overly sensitive to…especially when standing next to my size 10 sister. I get my shape from my mother who is similar and my sister gets hers from her divorce.I need to work on that sensitivity and accept my physical state as is while trying to get healthier.
