gift turkey

November 22, 2012

Saw a cute craft…somewhere.  I mean here.  So I took an old yeast jar and had each child/spouse/grandchild do a hand “print” which I assembled as a gift for my mom.

handy turkey…gift for me mum

Today I am thankful that my family came together and enjoyed each other’s company.  While the food was fine, the company made it better.

Made a new pie that was quite different.  A thoroughbred pie.  No, there is no horses in it but I guess it is served at the Kentucky Derby.  Pie crust baked then chocolate melted to the bottom.  Filled with a buttery bourbon sweet walnut filling.  Very different.

Currently voiceless or pretty darn close.  Woke up with a scratchy throat that got better and then a whole lot worse.
