Paper board mailbox

February 2, 2012

February is mail month at my son’s preschool.  We had to make him a mailbox for him to take to school.  Right after I got that note, I found the perfect tutorial for making a mailbox on Punkin Patterns.  Terrific timing.  I assembled it out the paper board in our recycling bin though I made it a bit larger than the tutorial.  My son sort of helped me cover it (I think I still have some hair left in my head…to say it was frustrating is putting it mildly) and then he decorated it with scrap book paper, markers and stickers.  It isn’t the most symmetrical and doesn’t have the flag but it is finished.  The door doesn’t stay closed so we have a elastic to loop over a metal dit to close it.
