feeling like a failure

Do you know what makes a mother feel like a failure on all points?
Have her child complain that she didn’t spend enough money on him at the town’s pumpkin patch festival…when she spent all the cash she had.
(Oh wait, I have a dollar left.)

No. Hubby has only been home about 90 minutes…but gave him QUITE the lecture when I had our son tell him what he said to me.
The birthday thing went about like I expected. Hunting comes first because it (supposedly) puts food on our table. (No he didn’t get an elk which sucks because we could use the meat.) He apologized to our son and said that his birthday does not have to be celebrated on the actual day…blah, blah, blah. Overall, Hubby has taken my ranting quite well though I was considerable calmer after he got home. The heated part took place when he called to say that he was on the way. I was right to worry a bit…he did have some mechanical issues but nothing major.
