Princess Kate’s wedding earrings
As I have mentioned before, I don’t understand the big fascination for Will and Kate’s wedding. I will admit that the first thing I did upon waking is to see what her dress looked like. Then when I found out about her earrings, I hunted until I found a picture of them where I could clearly see the detail.
The earrings on the left are Kate's. Given to her by her parents reflecting their new coat of arms.
Acorns and oak leaves…perfect. They are fertility symbols you know. I wonder how long I’m going to have to wait before a plain silver version will be available for those of those they are not part of the royal family? They would be a perfect addition to my acorn jewelry collection.

There was a lot of complaints over the simplicity of these coat of arms, but I like it…but then with the acorns on it, how could I not?! The article says that the oaks were to represent the Kate and her siblings and as the symbol of England. I read somewhere else that she (because Kate helped design this) chose oaks because of the oak trees on the family estate.
As for everything else…her dress was lovely, her groom was handsome in his uniform, the spectator hats were over the top. End of interest. I hope they are happy despite the scrutiny they will have to endure.

I think everything should could have a direct hand in was simplistic, but it did nothing to make it any less gorgeous or make it less of an impact. I don’t see what people are bitching about. Then again, there WOULD be bitching if she had gone over the top celebrity-royal style, too. I’m fine with what she did today, just because it was simplistic, modern, and beautiful.

google what William’s mother’s coat of arms looked like…very busy and ughly if you ask me, especially for one who was typically so classy (well expect for her wedding gown, UGHLY!)

I think this is my favourite Royal Wedding article. I noticed the earrings when Kate got in the car but never got to see them up close. I agree, some of the hats were a bit too much.

I think I’d prefer to have earrings without the rhinestones in them. Just plain silver or even a mixed metal one would be neat.

Found a site that has replicas of these earrings for $73 plus shipping. I wish someone would make a pair without the sparkly bits. Tempting as they are I wouldn’t wear these often.
