Skull Sock Kitty

January 6, 2011

So awhile back I bought Stray Sock Sewing by Daniel to fulfill my book club commitment.  So today I pulled it out along with one of my favorite pair of socks that just recently developed a hole.  Overall, I’m not too impressed with the book.  The first half of it is more like a coffee table book.  He doesn’t tell you how to knot after stitching on faces and there is only 8 different projects in the book.  He does give you a basics section that covers useful stitches but overall I’m unhappy for the price I paid for it.  More projects, less pictorial spread would have been nice.

Now for what I made.  As is typical for me, I took the basics and then did whatever struck my fancy.  Behold my Skull Sock Kitty.  I should mention that this was a lot easier than I expected.

He will probably end up in my Halloween decorations.

Stricking a pose for a side view.
