My First Biscornu
December 11, 2010
So my son loves ladybugs. He asked me to stitch him a ladybug ornament for the tree this year. So we settled on a chart…a biscornu chart. Just to add a little more challenge, he wanted a ladybug felt fabric for the back of it. The biscornu was easier to stitch than I expected, just time consuming. My finger is sore from shoving the needle through the felt. I think it looks great!

Melia,
You are not the first person I have seen do a “Biscornu.” What makes it a “biscornu?” I would look at it and say “stuffed ornament.”
It’s cute btw….

according to Wikipedia, the name is derived from a French adjective meaning skewed, quirky or irregular.
Thanks.

Interesting. Did you son like the finish? I take it he likes ladybugs like you like acorns.
I have sore finger syndrome as well from putting the fringe on Zoe’s stocking. Pulling 4 strands of yarn through already done needlepoint canvas is hard.

He does.
That doesn’t sound like any fun!
