Dec. Stitching update

December 2, 2010

I’ve been stitching on a gift for my son.  The boy LOVES ladybugs.  So I stitched a ladybug onto a children’s apron for him.  Just finished it tonight.  Need to find some fabric for a pocket on the apron but other than that it is done.

ladybugs are lucky you know!

I’m still working on the bat chart that my son wanted me to stitch.  I usually stitch on it only because I haven’t got any ornaments started and my son likes me to sit with him while he finishes breakfast.  (That boy eats slower than his Daddy!)

I have at least two ornaments I want to get stitched.  Anything after that is a bonus.  The first one is the ladybug ornament that my son requested.  The second one is the second ornament from the 12 Days of Christmas.  I stitched the first one…seem like years ago.  If I get that finished then I’ll stitch a fairy ornament.

Other than that, I haven’t worked any more on designing my son’s birth chart.  I have a couple of charts I’d like to design but feel obligated to work on holiday stuff first.  My travel chart hasn’t gotten any closer to being finished.  Maybe I’ll work on it this weekend while Hubby is deer hunting. (Especially since we have no money to do holiday shopping.  People are not paying their invoices I guess.  I will only use a credit card under duress.)

Holiday stitching? What’s holiday stitching? Oh yes I remember, I bust a gut 5 years ago to stitch something individual for everyone (by everyone I mean 20 people) and 4 people said thank you, or Oooh, or some such, one person actually said “is that it?!”

Humph’s from me aside, I hope you get done what you want and get in some stitching other than Holiday stitching!

I’m very particular on who I stitch for that very reason. When I said holiday stitching though, I meant holiday-themed stitching. I think I burnt myself out last year with stitching my son’s “count down to Santa” ornaments. I just haven’t been in the mode for holiday stitching. Got a lot of neat charts…so I really need to buckle down and get it done.

Is your son enjoying the “Countdown to Santa” this year? I know you worked to hard on it last year. Zoé’s only one so she likes the Christmas tree. I decided I was going to make each of my babies a stocking and one ornament per year to be housed in a special box. I have Zoé’s stocking done.
Not much in the mood for Holiday Stitching either (I already did that massive stocking for Emily, oy), so I’m working on UFOs of the knitting and stitching variety (pics on blog).
New baby is going to be a girl (doc is pretty sure). Still working on a name but I don’t like the same name my husband likes….

He is. It is one of the first things he does when he gets up in the morning. I talked about stitching a stocking but Hubby talked me out of it. Honestly, I’m relieved. 😀

Good luck with a name. It is a good thing I didn’t have a girl as Hubby and I could never agree on a name.
