So I’ve spent a little more than a week getting the house and such ready for my son’s 6th birthday. He chose an astronaut theme. Below are the various things I made for the party.

the front of the invitations that we gave/sent out.

made from foam stickers. Used to decorate butcher paper on tables.

decorated this shirt for my son…do you see the astronaut’s shadow?

3D rockets for the kids to color/decorate

I’ll save you the whining about this one and just simply say I sewed two valences together.

color coded elevation of Venus. Red is high elevation, blue is low. done on a coffee filter with water soluble markers

Mars done on a coffee filter with water soluble markers

Uranus done on a coffee filter with water soluble markers

Neptune. Done on a coffee filter with water soluble markers

Mercury. Done with water soluble markers on a coffee filter

Infrared view of Saturn (minus the rings). Done on a coffee filter with water soluble markers
The other rather awesome thing we had to give out to the kids that attended was an autographed picture of a particular retired astronaut plus pin. We had actually asked this astronaut to attend (Hubby is wiring his house) but he had other obligations for the weekend. He gave us signed pictures, pins and patches (which we kept for our son. Will place them in a shadow box I think.)
Between the cleaning, the crafting and a rather nasty cold, I’m plain worn out.

That is so awesome! I love the cake! I hope he had a good time
Thanks Sean! He seemed to have enjoyed himself.
Brilliant decorations and the retired astronaut … yay!
Thanks! Yeah the only thing better is if he had been able to attend…but he was most generous! I have a thank you note for Hubby to give to him.
